Ph.D. and Master's Program in Biomedical Science
- interdisciplinary programs train for careers in biomedical research and education
- specializations in neuroscience, molecular oncology, vision science, microbiology & immunology, developmental biology and anatomy, reproductive biology

Master of Science in Genetic Counseling
- prepares genetic counselors to work with families at risk for genetic disease or birth defects. Accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC).
- includes course work, clinical rotations, and a research-based thesis
Master's Program in Nurse Anesthesia
- trains registered nurses to develop, implement, and evaluate the anesthetic plan of care for patients; includes didactic courses and clinical experience with over 1000 cases and a minimum of 800 hours
- graduates are eligible for certification by the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists
- a cooperative program between the School of Medicine and the Richland Memorial Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia
Master's Program in Rehabilitation Counseling
- provides technical and professional training which prepares counselors to aid in the rehabilitation of disabled and disadvantaged persons
- reassigned within the University in 1994 from the College of Education to the School of Medicine; now based in the Department of Neuropsychiatry and Behavioral Science
Certificate of Graduate Study in Psychiatric Rehabilitation
- cross-disciplinary training to assist individuals with severe, long term mental illnesses in securing and maintaining employment.
- content areas include the characteristics of severe long-term mental illnesses, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation methods, and the recovery process
- all coursework is available on campus or online in distance education format.
